TMS Membership:
Membership in The Masonry Society is open to all individuals and organizations interested in the activities and services of the Society. All members receive numerous benefits of membership including:
TMS News (4 issues annually)
TMS Journal (at least 1 issue annually)
TMS Responds (2 -4 issues annually)
Discounts on TMS-sponsored seminars, workshops and events
Discounts on TMS Annual Meeting
Invaluable opportunities to network with the leaders in the masonry design/construction community

Membership in The Masonry Society is divided into several
classifications as follows:
Professional Member:
Any individual who is a registered engineer or a registered architect or is a member of a
faculty at an accredited institute of higher education.
Associate Member:
Any individual who by education, training, or occupation is involved in the technical,
scientific, design, construction, or manufacturing aspects of masonry.
Affiliate and Sustaining Member:
Any organization or individual that has an interest in masonry construction and that makes
a financial contribution to the Society of or over amounts set by the Board of Directors.
Additional benefits are provided to affiliate and sustaining members as noted below.
Fellow Member:
Any individual who has been a member of the Society for a minimum of ten consecutive years
and who has provided outstanding contributions to masonry. Any member may nominate an
individual to this classification and, if approved by the Membership Committee, the
nomination is recommended to the Board of Directors where it must be approved with no more
than two dissenting votes. Professional and Associate Members who are made Fellows retain

Student Member (Nonvoting):
Any individual who is enrolled full time in any recognized school studying for an
engineering or architectural or construction technology degree.
Junior Member:
Any individual 28 years of age or younger who by education, training, or occupation is
involved in the technical, scientific, design, construction, or manufacturing aspects of
masonry. Junior membership is limited to a two-year duration.
Honorary Member (Nonvoting):
Any individual who has attained acknowledged eminence related to masonry research,
design, or construction. Any member may nominate an individual to this classification and,
if approved by the Honorary Membership Committee (consisting of the President, immediate
Past President, and the Executive Director), the nomination is submitted to the Board of
Directors where it requires unanimous approval.

Affiliate or Sustaining Membership Status!
Increasingly we are finding more and more members upgrading their membership
classification to Affiliate and Sustaining Membership status because the benefits are
clear: increased recognition, free publications, and increased support to the Society. The
following briefly describes some of the main benefits of Affiliate and Sustaining Members.

Representation on the TMS Board if your representative is elected to fill one of the Sustaining seats.
All the benefits of individual membership for your representative, such as periodicals and discounts on publications, the Annual Meeting, and all educational programs.
