Travel Information

Cancun International Airport is located outside the city of Cancun at kilometer 22 of the Cancun-Chetumal highway. Cancun, situated on the east coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, is divided into two zones: the Zona Hotelera (Hotel Zone), located on Cancun island, and El Centro (Downtown), on the mainland. The island is shaped like a “7” and is joined to the mainland by two short bridges. The following links may help you plan your trip to Cancun. The airport link will give you a map of the airport and guide you through the arrival and departure processes. Please note: US citizens are now required to have a passport to travel to Mexico

Transportation from the airport to the hotel. Taxis are $30 (one way) for up to three passengers and can be found in the ground transportation area of the airport. There are various companies that offer shuttle service. It costs approx. $9 - $45 one way for shuttle van service. The best way to handle your transportation needs is to pre arrange your pick up from the airport. The cost goes down a bit and you don’t have to worry about finding a reputable company.
