The Role of Masonry in Sustainable Design and LEEDTM

Description:
Green Building is becoming the norm in many areas of the country, and most designers, contractors, and material producers are familiar with the U.S. Green Building Council's LEEDTM Rating System. But how does green building differ from sustainable design? And how can masonry be a part of sustainable design?  Instructors will introduce attendees to sustainable design and how sustainable design differs from green building. They will overview the LEEDTM Rating System and the associated certification process, address LEEDTM credit categories, and identify how masonry products can contribute to sustainable design and LEEDTM credits. This presentation will give insight on the environmental building marketplace, as well as cover criteria and considerations used in selecting masonry products for sustainable designs and LEEDTM projects.

This seminar is typically presented in lengths of 2 to 3 hours, making it a perfect edition to a larger program you may be planning. It can also be shortened based on your needs.
