Mission:
Identify technical issues needing additional research. Monitor and report on the status of current masonry research. Promote masonry research.

Goals:
Provide for the continued improvement of masonry materials, design, analysis, and construction technology by providing a forum for the publication of quality research in these areas.

Activities:
Develop a program for converting research into design practice recommendations. Develop access to sources of available research information. Report research through the TMS Journal and the North American Masonry Conferences. Prepare and submit for review a series of monographs on masonry topics related to research, including monographs on compressive strength testing of mortar and on masonry connectors. Nominate and select the winners of the John B. Scalzi Research Award and the Outstanding Student Thesis Award.
