The Masonry Society is an international gathering of
people interested in the art and science of masonry. It is a professional, technical, and
educational association dedicated to the advancement of knowledge on masonry. TMS members
are design engineers, architects, builders, researchers, educators, building officials,
material suppliers, manufacturers, and others who want to contribute to and benefit from
the global pool of knowledge on masonry.
TMS gathers and disseminates technical information through its committees, publications,
codes and standards, slide sets, videotapes, computer software, newsletter, refereed
journal, educational programs, professors' workshop, scholarships, certification programs,
disaster investigation team, and conferences.
TMS was founded in 1977 and the First North American Masonry Conference was held in
Boulder, Colorado in 1978. Membership has grown to 750 with members in most states and in
31 other countries. The Masonry Society celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2002. |
