North American Masonry Conference (NAMC) from June 1-4, 2003. Dr. Russell H. Brown

Madren Conference Center, Clemson University
Clemson University has a long history of involvement with the masonry industry by both the
civil and ceramic/materials engineering departments as well as architecture. The National
Brick Research Center is located at Clemson University, and is expected to be of great
interest to many of the conference attendees. Dr. Gil Robinson founded the Center as well
as the Ceramic Engineering Department.
Clemson University is located in Clemson, South Carolina, in the
northwestern part of the state near Georgia and North Carolina. The nearby Blue Ridge
Mountains and surrounding lakes will provide numerous recreational activities for
conference attendees who decide to stay over a few days after the conference.
